How to care for your jewellery

Fine jewellery lasts a lifetime and even beyond that as family heirlooms are typically passed down from generation to generation. No matter how new or old your piece of jewellery is, with a little caution and care you can preserve and protect so that it always looks its best.

Home & Professional Cleaning

Daily wear and exposure to dirt and other elements can have your jewellery looking dull. If you feel like your jewellery needs a pick-me-up you can bring it in for our complimentary service which includes cleaning, polishing, rhodium plating as well as checking the security of the prongs for replacing or tightening. Alternatively, you can safely clean your jewellery yourself. Simply mix a few drops of mild dish soap in a bowl of lukewarm water and use a toothbrush to gently scrub the metal and stones. Rinse the item with water once you’re done, making sure that all the soap is off. Lastly, use a hair dryer on a low setting to carefully dry the item so that no water spots remain. If you are using an at-home ultrasonic cleaner please use it with caution and do not use it to clean jewellery with emeralds, pearls, tanzanites or pink tourmalines as it may cause permanent damage.
